Starting August 1, 2025, you can enjoy airport lounge services and free access after making a single qualifying international transaction of at least USD 1.
How it works
- As of August 1, 2025, simply log in to the MasterCard Travel Pass app and register your card number.
- After making a qualifying international transaction of at least USD 1, you’ll automatically receive 3 months of free lounge access from the date of the transaction.
What annual benefits await you?
- 8 free visits per year for MasterCard Platinum Debit cardholders
- 20 free visits per year for World MasterCard Credit cardholders
- Unlimited access for Multi-Currency Credit cardholders and World Elite cardholders
What happens if you don’t make the qualifying transaction?
Your complimentary lounge access will be limited to:
- 1 visit per year for Platinum Debit and World Credit cardholders
- 2 visits per year for Multi-Currency and World Elite cardholders
After exhausting your available visits, lounge access will be temporarily suspended, and any additional access will be charged at USD 32 via the Mastercard Travel Pass app.
The good news?
You can restore full benefits by simply making a new international transaction of at least USD 1!
Important information…
- A qualifying transaction can be made online at an international merchant or during travel abroad, in the equivalent local currency.
- If lounge access is restricted, it will be automatically reinstated within 72 hours of completing a qualifying transaction and verifying your card in the app.
- The calendar year typically runs from January 1 to December 31, but for the year 2025, benefits will be calculated from August 1 to December 31.

What is the international transaction requirement for enjoying MasterCard’s airport lounge access benefit?
You are required to make at least one international transaction of USD 1 or its equivalent in local currency, either at a physical point of sale or online (e-commerce), to become eligible for airport lounge access.
Which cards are subject to this requirement?
All MasterCard Platinum Debit, World Credit, Multi Currency Credit and World Elite Credit cards issued in Jordan are subject to this condition.
What does the spending requirement mean for my lounge access benefit?
- You’ll need to log in to the MasterCard Travel Pass app to re-enter your card details if you already have an account. If you are a new customer, you’ll need to register.
- Once registered or confirmed, every qualifying international transaction of at least USD 1 (or its equivalent) will grant you complimentary access to airport lounges for a duration of 3 calendar months from the date of the transaction.
- If you do not make the minimum qualifying spend, your lounge benefit will be limited to 1 free visit for Titanium, Platinum, and World MasterCard holders, and 2 free visits for World Elite MasterCard holders.
If you don’t make an international transaction after using your complimentary visit(s), you will only be able to access the lounge by paying USD 32 using your MasterCard.
If my lounge access is paused due to not meeting the international transaction requirement, how can I restore it?
If your access is temporarily paused, you can restore it by making an international transaction of at least USD 1 (or local currency equivalent) at a physical point of sale or online.
Then, validate your card again in the Travel Pass app by clicking the “Spend Rewards” banner. Your access will be reinstated within up to 72 hours.What is the validity of my complimentary lounge access before making an international transaction?
You will receive complimentary lounge access upon your first registration or re-enrollment in the MasterCard Travel Pass app, and at the beginning of each calendar year. This benefit will expire at the end of the same calendar year, unless you make an international transaction.
What qualifies as an international transaction for this requirement?
An international transaction is any payment or purchase made physically at a point of sale outside the country where your card was issued, or an online purchase made from an international website or merchant.
Do local transactions qualify for this requirement?
No. Only international point-of-sale or e-commerce transactions are eligible.
Does this requirement apply to supplementary cards as well?
Yes. Supplementary cardholders must also make a minimum international transaction of USD 1 (or equivalent) to unlock airport lounge access.
How many complimentary lounge visits do I get per year?
Effective August 1, 2025, the following caps will apply to lounge visits and/or dining offers per calendar year:
- Mastercard Platinum Debit Card: 8 visits
- Mastercard World Credit Card: 20 visits
- Mastercard Multi Currency Credit Card and World Elite Credit Card: Unlimited access
Please note that lounge visits and airport dining offers are combined and count toward the total annual cap.
The calendar year is defined from January 1 to December 31. However, for 2025 only, the calendar year will run from August 1 to December 31.
Can I carry over unused lounge visits from the previous year?
No. All visits must be used within the same calendar year. Unused visits will not roll over into the following year.
Can I use one of my lounge visits for a guest?
You may bring guests traveling on the same flight only if you have complimentary guest visits included in your entitlement. Otherwise, a fee of USD 32 per guest will be charged to your MasterCard.
How can I check how many lounges visits I have left?
Log in to the MasterCard Travel Pass app to view your available visits. If your access has been paused due to not meeting the spending requirement, you will be notified in the app and reminded to make a qualifying transaction.
If I’m a new cardholder who enrolls in the MasterCard Travel Pass app after August 1, 2025, what happens to my lounge access?
You will receive:
- 1 complimentary visit for, Platinum Debit, and World MasterCard Credit Card.
- 2 complimentary visits for World Elite MasterCard Credit Card.
To unlock additional visits up to your yearly cap, you must make an international transaction of at least USD 1 (or its equivalent) at a physical point of sale or through an international e-commerce site to start enjoying full lounge access.
